Is it local police or RCMP?
I am rurally-challenged but my understanding is that the Canadian ministry of Fisheries and Oceans had jurisdiction on inland waters. If that is correct, enforcement could be a bit harsher than what a local cop would mete out.

@RuthODay2@chaosfem.tw I think DFO is charged with enforcing laws about harvesting and habitat for fish and marine mammals, not so much with ordinances which are usually RCMP and provincial resource officers.
