@ErikJonker@mastodon.social @olivia@scholar.social I feel like if the argument is just "we should support them in it because they're going to do it anyway" then that's equally true of *everything* students do despite being asked not to, so by that logic universities should have supportive policies about how best to use essay mills to increase learning, and the most responsible forms of plagiarism. What makes AI special?

It's not as if my opinion of todays academia/higher education wasn't low enough already... "My Dad payed for a Library wing to get me a MA" turns into "My Dad payed for 10 LLMs to get me a MA"
