This stood out for me:
"Marxist thinkers have been good at exposing the capitalist mode of production as historical and therefore transformable rather than naturally ordained. They have been less consistent and progressive, in my opinion, in treating the consumer culture created by capitalism as if it were the ‘naturally’ determined form of the ‘good life’ that could and should be endlessly expanded and provided for all in a post-capitalist global order."
