I think we've made a lot of myths about these LLMs and agents. The myth that are wise, the myth that they might become all powerful, the myth that are a short cut whereby, intellectual work of the past can do future work for free or only for the cost of the electricity.
None of this seems to be true, but these systems do seem to be able to hook people, make them addicted, lead them into an endless hall of mirrors.

@linuxandyarn@hachyderm.io There was a time when we thought cocaine would be a great productivity drug. The people most enthusiastic about the utility of cocaine ... were on cocaine. Then a lot of them had heart attacks, or they scratched their skin off, or they sold all of their furniture to get more cocaine. Some recovered. Recovery is possible. If someone says "Try this drug it makes me SO GOOD at investing!" you back away. "AI Psychosis" is real. A machine that flatters you isn't healthy.
