PyPI now rejects uploads of new files to existing packages after 14 days, which sure is an improvement, but I was sitting there wondering why these are mutable at all, and why not like, hours instead of two whole weeks. Turns out: it's because the "legacy" (current) API does not support staging releases at all. I hope when the new one drops this can be improved.
