@mr_daemon@untrusted.website that's basically what i use -- an rsync script that looks at the music folder on my computer and on the USB device and syncs them
though these days, i usually just use my smartphone, and that one has syncthing installed on it, so the music folder is synchronized automagically

@rnd@toot.cat I guess that would probably be good enough in the end, and maybe I've been overthinking it. As long as I cleanly sort it all beforehand it doesn't really need to do much more, and rsync or robocopy would be absolutely fine in the end
