Wanted to make sure folks are aware of a great opportunity upcoming for a short dose of timely (inter)national security knowledge that doesn't require travel!
The Global & National Security Policy Institute at The University of New Mexico has put together a fantastic lineup at the cutting edge of a truly impressive range of topics for its Fall Symposium, Building Resilience Amid Global Insecurity, later this month (27 August)--and you don't have to go to Albuquerque in the hottest part of summer😅 to take advantage of it, as there will be a Zoom-only option.
As keynote speaker, they've got David Cattler, the previous Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Intelligence & Security, speaking on Trust, Resilience, and Deterrence regarding the transatlantic alliance.
They're also priveleged to have none other than retired Australian Major General Mick Ryan, AM who, as many of you will already know, has been contributing a genuinely groundbreaking, running strategic analysis over on LinkedIn, of lessons observed (though perhaps not learned!) from the war in Ukraine--speaking virtually on why militaries are slow to learn the lessons of modern warfare.
Other highlights include expert-led panels on (1) resilience in emerging technologies with Stephanie L. Moore, Ph.D. from UNM’s Engineering Trustworthy AI team & Bob Ledoux, the Director of the NM Quantum Institute and (2) resilience in space operations, featuring Charlene Jacka of SpaceWERX, Q Station's Randy Trask, and representatives from the Air Force Research Laboratory and UNM.
And as if all that wasn't compelling ENOUGH, there's NO CHARGE to participate, unless you ARE attending in person and plan on staying for dinner! So what are you waiting for? Reserve your spot today!
