The book contract I signed a few days ago has a "no genAI" clause. Neither I, the author, nor the editor/publisher are allowed to use genAI. I am extremely happy about having that written officially in the document!

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social Meanwhile, German book distributors "Tredition" and "Epubli" apparently plan to write into their contracts they'll feed anybody's manuscripts into US LLM slop plagiarism machines now, whether the writers want to or not. E.g. here: https://tredition.com/datenschutz/ And for Epubli they told me via email that they're considering it.
