@pixelate@tweesecake.social @alexchapman@vee.seedy.cc Okay, from the documentation it seems a bit better; at least it supports all standard controls and supports announcing roles and states. But its still MSAA only and not UIA. However, its still significant progress; with how long Wine has been developed, and how popular it is now with Proton, it should have had better accessibility support a long time ago.

@emassey0135@caneandable.social @alexchapman@vee.seedy.cc Meh, we all know how accessibility goes. Really slow and years too late. But hopefully now with AI coding we can somewhat keep up. All the new stuff just about everywhere is thanks to AI, especially in the Linux accessibility space. Also I feel like it's best for playing games requiring NVDA and such, but will get betterfor general applications in the future. Also it's still definitely a work in progress. I tested it with Notepad, and it reads everything except the text edit field and menu bar. Yes you may say the edit field is the whole point, but like as a test, and it reading buttons and combo boxes, that's a massive step from nothing at all.
