Now that I'm using Si units instead of imperial units, I wanted to do the right thing for non-whole numbers, especially for distance in kilometers. I am guessing decimals are used to be more multi language-friendly, but wanted to confirm fractions are an imperial unit convention.

@AncTreat@sunny.garden why instead of? it's possible to use SI and imperial units both. We do it every day in Canada. We also colloquially use time to measure distance e.g 20 minutes away rather than distance.
