⚠️ Don't update from /e/OS 4.0 to 4.1.1! The main reason is that @murena@mastodon.social removed #Seedvault. They replaced it with their own backup app (based on Seedvault as I've heard) that only can backup to their own cloud! The problem with this is that you now have to pay for a backup, because who has a backup below 1GB. 🤷🏻 Yes, you've heard it right, #Murena goes vendor lock-in! It's now 100% clear that it's not about a Google alternative, but about their own payed services (what is just a customized Nextcloud). There are also some other bugs, that only will be fixed in 4.2 or 4.3, but nothing about the Seedvault removal. So people can't choose their backup location anymore. Multiple people asked on their forum, but no definitive answer was given. See here: https://community.e.foundation/t/feedback-for-v4-1-1. This is not their first time they messed it up. They also removed Material You, so they force you to use blue accent colours. Hopefully someone knows how to safely migrate to #LineageOS or another reliable custom ROM for a #Fairphone 6? #eOS
