That’s kinda how it works, though.
My grandpa fought in WWII. He didn’t ask the Nazis if they supported Hitler or if they were volksturm conscripts who were given a choice between fighting and being executed by the nearest SS officer. He just dropped rocket artillery on them from a few km away, and they all died the same way.
