@cjd@pkteerium.xyz @thefinn@poa.st I believe there's the idea on the government side that lying about the state of things, the economy included, is "better" for the citizens as to not make you upset or start questioning things. There is, after all, nothing worse for a leader than a population that thinks for themselves.
