Toast is great. I wish I knew who first had the thought to cook bread twice. Did they want more crust? Were they trying to make bread last longer? What was their favorite kind of bread? Did they come up with putting butter on it or was that an innovation from a second, even more brilliant mind? I have so many questions to ask them, I hope the afterlife is real

I honestly feel like it was an accident as most innovations are. Some tavern or inn had some overcooked bread and sold it anyway and people just happened to like it.
