Heart warming story time.
Recently, I was unsupervised for the evening because Bonnie was at a work function, so I decided to get Uber Eats delivered.
I chose a place I hadn’t tried before, and eventually I got the notification that my driver was arriving.
I went outside the house and stood there ready to receive the delivery, but nobody showed up. Eventually I gave the driver a call to find out if he was lost. He told me what street he was in, and then I realized that the Uber Eats app had unilaterally switched to my work address, even though I haven’t had Uber Eats delivered to work for a long time. I explained what had happened, apologized for the confusion because I suppose I have learned my lesson to check the delivery address more thoroughly, and I fully expected to lose the order.
But the delivery guy brought it to my house, even though it meant he obviously couldn’t pick up new jobs. What made this even more remarkable is that he was on a bike.
I thanked him profusely and gave him a handsome tip, but it’s just so nice when you get someone who cares enough to go out of their way and perform an act of kindness like that.
