Share! 🎉 #NoAI A lot of you have pledged in the past few days. That's wonderful. I'm so appreciative. My self published books through Kickstarter are my sole source of income for the time being, as Gen AI literally did rid me of my livelihood. Because I do freelance research and writing about cybersecurity and tech in general. I used to have a very livable income up until 2024 or so. And my freelancing peers have similar stories to tell. The massive economic and workforce harms of Gen AI are within the scope of Recovering After Gen AI. So if you could please share this campaign on your social media, I would greatly appreciate it. To save you spoons, if you don't want to write something original, absolutely do not use an LLM. Please! I know that should be obvious, but I've been greatly dismayed by willingly Gen AI using supposed "anti AI" activists and also maskless supposed Covid activists. Instead, you may copy and paste what I've written here: -- The nightmare of Gen AI will end soon, no matter how often techbros say "AI is here, get used to it!" MIT researchers and Harvard meta-analysis say the datacentres are unsustainable according to the laws of physics. The financial bubble will pop. And here's also model collapse. There will be so much environmental, societal, and economic destruction in it's wake. The Recovering After Gen AI book will examine that. Last 48 hours! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kimcrawley/recovering-after-gen-ai/ -- I have begun interviewing subject matter experts for my book. Surprisingly, a professor of astronomy from the University of Regina has joined my list of sources. And I've reached out to scientists behind the "Your Brain on ChatGPT" study too. In the end, at least a couple of dozen of experts from various fields will be my real human knowledge sources for the book. -- I've been asked about the backer rewards that include dedications. When do you get to tell me which name to use? No worries, all backers will receive a backer survey soon, via email. And backers who have rewards with dedications will be asked for what name you'd like me to use. Please give me that information as a response to your backer survey, and not by emailing me or messaging me with it. My ADHD very much likes having all the names to use in the spreadsheet that's made from your backer survey results. (All backer information is kept private between me and Kickstarter. But a dedication name in a book is public, obviously.) -- You can enjoy two of the Recovering After Gen AI webinars via YouTube and PeerTube. They feature Pivot to AI tech critic David Gerard and software developer tech critic Stephen Farrugia. David Gerard https://youtu.be/-RSV0H9z3kQ Stephen Farrugia https://youtu.be/OSKmJ8cQnno
