Today in conversation with my son, I learned that I am apparently not an "old person." This pleased me. 😁 Anyway, the conversation went something like this: We didn't talk much about your trip last week. What did you think of her (the new gf's) parents (their first meeting)? They were nice. Is that all you got? Well, they were old and you know it is hard for me to relate to old people. <reluctant Wallflower braces herself but keeps it positive> So they are not around my age? No, they are more like (names one of his best friend's) parents. I can't say I know how old they are. His dad is 69. He plans to retire this year. They are going to move to Florida. Oh, will (friend) move too? No. Really? I cannot imagine my life without you near me. Okay, now I'm going to cry a moment...

@Wallflower@beige.party It's very rewarding when you have a non "ok boomer" realationship with your children. Having a child texting or talking to you like a peer friend and not just a parent is a fountain of youth. At least mentally.
