VHS degrades a lot over time! I can’t imagine watching VHS even if it were brand new on my old CRT with component video even. (Though I think S-Video was max for VHS/VCRs). Anyway, obviously someone else did a really nice write up already, definitely the way to go. Private tracker sites might even offer more if you know where to look. Some do open registration occasionally too
