Hey so the Trump regime unilaterally forced Haitian Americans into undocumented status, and is now using that undocumented status as an excuse to force them to wear ankle monitors. A reminder that the "just follow the law" crowd is lying. It was never about following the law, it was always about banning Black and brown immigrants to advance white supremacy and Christian nationalism. Wake Up.

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social White people seem too comfy with the idea of white nationalism. You need’nt wonder white.

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social "Just follow the law" would also be more convincing if there were any sign of the Trump administration doing so. It's a lot easier to trust in the protection of the legal system and due process if people aren't being black bagged and sent to Liberia in violation of judicial orders.

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social They're likely charging the immigrants money to pay for the ankle monitors as well. They're used all across the United States by courts--I'd imagine the companies make a lot of money from them as they collect payment from both the state and the person forced the wear the monitor. https://eji.org/news/defendants-driven-into-debt-by-fees-for-ankle-monitors/

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social WTF are they doing to my city? With the best hospitals in the country, supported by the best immigrant assistants in the world. We in Boston can't survive without Haitians. Why are they doing this to us?
