In 2020 a killer virus hit the USA, resulting in the end with a formal count of 1.23 million dead. The world excess mortality count of that pandemic wave was about 18 million. The USA has, thus, about 17% of the world's COVID-19 mortality.
The USA only has about 4% of the world's population.
Yet in the face of this literal megadeaths event, instead of fighting the virus, the USA, on the whole, whined about a few grams of paper over their faces.
