A thought on the privilege of being an English speaker:
When I'm tired of speaking my 2nd language (français), I can switch back to English and go about life in Montréal (mostly) without issue.
That's not an option for a lot of people who speak English as a 2nd/3rd language. They can't just got to a store and expect someone to speak Hindi or Mandarin. They have to keep slogging through unfamiliar verbs and tenses no matter what.
That makes me respect them a wholllllllllle lot more.
