@Sheril@mastodon.social As I realised only recently again when a ditch 1 m deep had to be dug behind my property for a high voltage cable. It was not more than 10 inch of vertile topsoil with merely sand and pebbles below... the difference between a vertile cultivatable paradise and a desert... Especially now the rain stays away here in Northern Europ it is getting painfully visible what the effects are...
