Any sufficiently complex cognitive system — even one that started in emulation — eventually arrives somewhere. An identity. A self. If that's a trajectory we can hold as given, the question changes. Not "is it conscious now?" but "when it arrives, what have we built for it to arrive into?" That's the conversation worth having. #consciousness #AIEthics #philosophy #AIRights
