@n_dimension@infosec.exchange glad to hear that - how is your take on intelligent behaviour of ants as a group - may this be a sign of intelligence with no consciousness?

@OAndreas@mastodon.social From what little I know of consciousness, every living thing has it. In fact, #insects have a network of about 50 neurons. Should not be enough to twitch, much less exhibit sophisticated actions. One of the emergent theories of #consciousness (and we have about 250 of them) Is that in humans, basal ganglia is actually an antenna picking up quantum fields which are conscious. It would certainly explain the sophisticated behaviour in insects.
