Actually, I'll extend this. I was being far too conservative about timeline.
Do you think company towns paying in scrip was a pattern aligned with the people working there? When they were logging the forests in the 1800s? Because they were pretty famously *not.* And that's still too short. You can go very, very far back. Maybe to Ea-Nasir.

So the new threat we're supposed to care about is that when the Epstein class asshole we've been gesturing at culls his workforce and demands the survivors to use the Plagiarism Vortex to "do code faster" than the previous baseline anyways, we're supposed to be sad/scared/sympathetic that maybe the Plagiarism Vortex is kinda bad at following directions and might not do exactly the world-fucking thing he asked for.
