@troed@swecyb.com so that is one of the more libertarian local model LLM subreddits out there, the local model subs have a totally different set of conspiracies, i allude to this in first reply in this thread. but also the second to top post is a conspiracy theory about the government eventually cracking down on the open models: https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1uht2m0/were_probably_going_to_need_that_soon/ and also https://www.reddit.com/search/?q=r%2FLocalLlama+censorship and also if you compare the top posts of the last month to the top posts of all time you'll see the shape of how the local model conspiracy is forming: any degradation in future models will be because they are compromised corporate malware (the LLaMA local model subreddits are generally less sinophobic than other AI subreddits, similar to the tankie local model subreddits)

That's not a conspiracy theory but a well known fact. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12910507/ https://spectrum.ieee.org/jailbreaking-llms The first link follows from this. Since there are political requirements on censoring LLMs, the fact that open weight models can be (quite easily) "de-censored" again means there's a risk that some governments might put a stop to models being released as open weights altogether. I'm all for ridiculing conspiracy theorists - but these aren't.
