@kmgrant@mastodon.social @BasicAppleGuy@mastodon.social You don’t have to like it but prices do go up. It’s why most everything costs more than it did in the 90s. People are free to just buy music and films. I’m afraid those prices go up too.

@fds@mastodon.social @kmgrant@mastodon.social @BasicAppleGuy@mastodon.social Not completely true. Computer prices have been going down forever. Wheat is where it was in the 1970s. Inflation is not a real, physical, organic thing, but the result of many interconnected factors. Cars are a great example. Every twenty years, the product is completely different, but we keep calling them cars. But how do you compare prices when one had hand-crank windows and the other is a mobile WiFi hot spot?
