It feels like one of those things where someone learns how to be woke without unlearning all of the prejudice and biases and propaganda they've been taught growing up in the US so they're like "oh it's wrong to blame all our problems on a minority? And Israel is doing something bad? Let's blame all of our problems on them! Yeah we're woke"
