@ParadeGrotesque@mastodon.sdf.org companies values are largely determined by the price people are willing to pay for a piece of paper saying they own a piece of the company without doing anything of value for that company. then you have algorithms that have existed to try and predict markets and model investor behaviors to buy early at advantageous prices now an AI is going to try and predict what those models predict and then get an advantage in on that. youre no longer trading on the value of a company but trading on the value you think an AI will think an algorithm thinks humans will value companies at in the future ....... its all fake.
