In Vermont in ‘67-8 we unloaded jumbled hay wagon 60 lbs bales by hand onto conveyors into dairy barns. The cows were still milked in stanchions. There were ~70 cows per barn.
In Utah in ‘22 on small horse ranch the large bales needed a tractor to move. There were 16 horses.
