Emerald Starling (Lamprotornis iris) is a small bird native to west Africa. It is also known as the iris glossy starling. Its feathers display a rainbow color illusion, as the feathers have a metallic, gemstone-like shine, not caused by typical pigments but created by the arrangement of the feathers, which refract light like a prism. Male & female species are identical. #birds #nature
