well that sucks. apparently the Freedom To Read Foundation filed a trademark application for the phrase "free people read freely" a year and a half after i made the original lino print that i've made into stickers/etc. it's no big deal from a business perspective — i don't sell these stickers for much more than they cost, because it's an important message that i want to help people share. i've probably given away at least as many as i've sold, which i guess is now what i'll have to do with the rest. and it's not my coinage, to be clear — it's from a fantastic 2023 speech by librarian Tracie D. Hall. but the artwork is mine, and wasn't infringing anyone's IP up until the FTRF filed this trademark application in March.
