🚨Make your voices heard & #KILLTHECOOKIEBANNER. 🍪😡 The European Commission wants to remove the ANNOYING COOKIE BANNER that you have to deal with, but Google is lobbying against this. Now, EU Member States like Germany & France want to keep it. It is time for the European Parliament to advocate to keep their proposal (Article 88b) and remove the cookie banner, because its people that are directly impacted by this. @Tutanota@mastodon.social The consent request should have no consents selected by default. This is insane that you need to opt out instead opt in for dozen of the checkboxes of ads brokers.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Removing cookies involves removing trackers completley? Or is just a way to deny us the right to refuse cookie trackers?

@Tutanota@mastodon.social When Google is lobbying in favor of keeping the cookie banner, I think I'm going to use Gemini to generate an email to the listed MEPs vouching to remove the banners, just to be petty.

  • @Tutanota@mastodon.social (Edit: I was corrected on this matter, therefore the previous message - what's below - is invalid. See https://fedi.slightly.tech/@joepie91/statuses/01KYZATF273XRZT4TEZR4CVJG0) (Original) I think the Cookie Banner is a good think. There shall be just a little change for the "reject all" option to be pre-selected. Removing all cookies sound wrong. Especially if there are features for interconnecting services with the main service. There are good use-cases for cookies.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social skip cookie banner, Tell people just to use Ublock Origin, even better tell Spyware companies to go after every single piece of spyware, and quit being rotten lazy.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social A good way to avoid cookies is to avoid Google, as add-ons such as uBlock Origin can only be installed in a ‘watered-down’ form in both the browser and the search engine, whilst others such as Traffic Light, Privacy Badger and similar are not available at all; ad blockers have always been – and remain – the natural enemy of Big Tech companies such as META, Alphabet, etc. That’s why I’ve completely banned Google from my life 😜
