There's so much bullshit I hear about Culloden.
It wasn't about independence.It wasn't Scotland vs England.It wasn't Scots vs Scots, or Gael vs Gael for that matter.Jacobites didn't lose because they didn't have archers on horseback (most ridiculous I've heard)Jacobites didn't lose because they weren't wearing shoesthe Battle didn't end the clan system
Lots of other oddities too. But folk will Prebble their history; less truth more Braveheart

The two weird reasons for loss were Scottish tour-guides telling USians about the battle. Can we not lie about our own history?! Fuckin eejits.

@mactunag@gts.eunach.scot My neighbour at my house site, a Mackay, is quite proud of the fact that his ancestors weren't at Culloden; they were too busy stealing the cattle of the clans which were. 😀
