Are you thinking more like FL Studio, or Reason?

@jeffzugale@mastodon.art @aurynn@cloudisland.nz no, FL Studio and Reason are also DAWs. Music Trackers are basically sequencers of (typically) note length samples, with effects. It was a whole scene in the mid to late 1990s. There’s still a bit of a scene in hardware devices (eg M8 Tracker) and the demo scene. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_tracker
