Just because they drop the charges doesn’t mean the govt didn’t act in bad faith, perform prosecutorial misconduct in filing ridiculous charges in the first place. Putting an innocent person through the trauma of this process should itself be a reason to consider sanctions or even disbarment of those involved to begin with, as well as compensation to their victims.
