@Miro_Collas@masto.ai @Peter_Link@expressional.social first things first, I'm an anarchist. I'm against capitalism. Second, I'm a Venezuelan, unfortunately still living here. It's not hell just because of the economic crisis (to which only Cuba's and Haiti's can be compared, both are worse) but because of the inexistent freedom of speech. I tell you, we haven't ever been worse in our history, neither Cuba in theirs. And admitting that doesn't mean I now support capitalism. And third, we are not a puppet of the US. The dictatorship ia doing whatever they want: they have left our people die under the rubble after the tween earthquakes, their officials are looting fallen buildings, and they're still taking political prisoners. Do you really believe Trump is running this? He's running oil and stuff, that's all he wanted. But politically speaking, it's the same shit. And Rodriguez, our third dictator, who was not and will never be elected, is governing with no problems until the day she dies. Believing we are now a different country under a different government is like saying "Trump can't lie". And regarding Cuba: they're not perfect, but that imperfection should not cost the ability to read for most children, the housing for most people, the freedom of students, and the ability of the people to visit their own beaches

@soberaim@todon.nl Hum, you say Cuba has a literacy problem; the reality is the opposite. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_literacy_campaign Perhaps you have been a victim of right wing propaganda. @Peter_Link@expressional.social
