The reason why people might support Iran when they otherwise wouldn't is because they know a return to life under the Shah would be even worse.
USA imperialism hangs over oppressed people like a sword of Damocles around the world.

Iran's government offers independence and economic sovereignty to the people of Iran, and that's why they are still in power even counting year after year of protests against their rule.
