@pre@boing.world Here in Manchester, we "took vontrol" of the buses, which meant (mostly) slightly lower prices, price caps, minor integration with trams and trains, and slightly more regulation, but still no accountability for failing to run services or achieve any time-keeping targets. We also bought a massive fleet of electric buses and handed them over to the operators to run (or not!), because they couldn't update their fleets AND make big enough profits at the same time. Expect this same playbook for all the nationalised industries.

    @stuartb@social.teamb.space Yeah, Manc Busses style enterprise everywhere seems to be his plan. I am under the impression the service is largely improved, but sounds like just large subsidy for private enterprise without any of the profit coming back to the government.
