@orange_lux@eldritch.cafe That's assuming a lot. It assumes the person who wrote the code cared, or will learn from their mistakes. But more importantly, it takes cost out of the equation, which for a small business owner, is a big deal. Before anyone gets their knives or flame throwers out, remember I'm both a developer and a career sys-admin too, but. If I need a program written, or a feature added, and it will take my developers 5 hours to do it, at, say $50-$100 USD an hour for a midlevel or senior dev, or I can get an AI to do it at, say $20-$50 an hour and be done in 1-2 hours, with an equal number of bugs, choosing the person is an irrational decision at that point. That $400 over just one day amplifies across time. I still believe in having human developers in place, and at work we do human code reviews, but to dismiss AI entirely is to ignore the core motivations in commercial work. @glitchypixel@mastodon.gamedev.place
