@xorlou@lgbtqia.space We remember drives like that being heavily pushed in computer magazines in the mid to late 90s, and even early 00s, especially before ADSL started to slowly replace dial-up for more folx. It was a surreal time. Tech was changing fast, and yet a lot of it still felt slow for a while. Part of that was us being younger (and our sense of time being different), but it also feels like a lot of tech has got fast enough for most folx now... ... which is great, as most won't be able to afford any upgrades for a good while 😅🙃
