- Defense improved with Burleson at first and Gorman at third
- Roster churn: Jordan, Torres, Crooks, Gastelum, Nelson Velazquez debuted; Scott II, Gorman, Saggese demoted; churn didn't materially improve the bench, bottom of order, or bullpen
