@Iwillyeah@mastodon.ie Minimum-wage customer-facing work in a service industry is a special hell as you get to interact with people at their "best" day in and day out. That is not to say the positions you listed do not have plenty of hard lessons to learn (I have done both as well), just that dealing directly with customers as the job brings with it an understanding of how people can be that can be missed when you don't need to deal with them as the job itself.
