Side note: over the last three weeks I organized parts of my life to max out that usage across the multiple resets, working through my "research mission control" on several projects in parallel (an AI agent orchestration technique I have been developing for a couple of months).
Claude Fable 5 is pretty "smart", not as "smart" as the first Fable we saw, and not as smart as Mythos, since it is heavily safeguarded. But next to it, Opus 4.8 now feels like a "dumb" model.

4/5 Not a single European model can compete with those from the US or China. Some claim small models, or models from Europe, are the future. They matter for digital sovereignty, but the more relevant factor is the large, energy-intensive models that require billions of dollars to train. This makes me very sad.
