It is mind-boggling that if you pull up with an EV to a charging station, you have absolutely no idea how much you are going to pay per kWh. There is an obscure labyrinth of subscriptions, apps, RFID cards, etc., and even though every charging station has a display, you will never see the price that you are actually going to pay, and you will never be asked to confirm. I don't think this is going to settle itself without regulatory intervention. It's too good for the businesses involved.
