China's rise in providing Open Source AI isn't just putting the US's technological leadership into doubt. It's a challenge to our financial and business system. After all, why pay a premium for an OpenAI IPO if China can make a better solution for cheaper?

@kdkorte@fosstodon.org China has been into open source for a long time. It was a natural progression to apply it to its AI ventures and then offer the products at lower prices. It's what China did in Africa - flooding the markets with cheap Chinese products and undercutting local merchandise.
