Well sure back home fighting Critters was life and death, with no shortage of the latter. But at least we knew why were doing it, who we were doing it for, and we had each others’ backs. Out on Mars, according the documents we salvaged from their “colony,” things broke down pretty fast when the fecal transport system began malfunctioning due to a bug in the AI systems. The internal grousing and fingerpointing from that only got worse as the space blindness set in and they realised there wasn’t going to be a return flight. It was worse than winter in Jamestown for them.
