before my thesis, i didn't know anything about my thesis topic.
now, after my thesis, i don't know anything about 20 other follow-on topics.

@filmroellchen@chaos.social The first milestone to a good thesis is when you stop being able to ask your advisor for help because you now know more about the subject than they do. Like it's OK to bounce ideas off them if you're stuck, but if they can answer immediately and correctly off the top of my head you're not there yet.
