I just went looking at maps to see what's up agriculturally and it seems very diverse, though arid. I only went through at night on a train, so I'm curious.
Looks like a great time to put more land into agroforestry; useful, edible, craftable, woody perennials and grass interpasture, AKA silvopasture / polycuture, etc.
Too much wheat!
But then, Americans LOVE their wheat!
