We're turning 16 this year, so we've been revisiting how it all started. Back in 2010, we made a risky bet: render documents with HTML5 Canvas, painting every pixel ourselves. Nobody was doing that for editing. #Google moved Docs to Canvas in 2021. 🙂 In 2014, we open-sourced everything under AGPLv3.
